I treated myself to some amazon goodness to start my year with good reads.

I started with Bonhoeffer (biography).
A few chapters later, I gave birth to our 3rd baby and had to put it down since my brain couldn’t handle reading history with a newborn. I tend to check cross references and so it will not work with breastfeeding and all 🙂

I needed an easy, fast paced book as I tried to recover and adjust to diapers and sleepless nights again. My niece lent me book I of The Hunger Games trilogy. She was so enthusiastic about the book that it made me want to read it. The plot is quite disturbing but it served its purpose and entertained me. In my opinion, it is the kind of book that was written with one objective: to make into a movie. That says it all. But I would still read book II and III. Just shows that I am not entirely a book snob 🙂

I’m back to reading Bonhoeffer when all are asleep and jotting down my thoughts after each read.

I am also listening to Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte read by Ruth Golding through Librivox. The audiobook is in my ipad and it is easy accessible whenever I knit, nurse my baby or when my eyes are just too tired already. I’ve read this way back in high school, saw the PBS Masterpiece Version through Netflix just recently and now enjoying how exceptional Ruth Golding reads it. Excited to start Jane Eyre, which I’ve never read, to see how similar or different Charlotte is to her sister Emily.

A new year of books and learning 🙂 Happy reading to you all!
