“…she (Beta) went daily to the mountain to gather flowers for some dear soul who could not go out to get them. Sometimes they were taken to the gentle mother who had so many children that she never found time to leave her home. Sometimes they went to the village church and made the Sunday more beautiful than other days. Each time she climbed higher and higher as she had soon learned that the rarer and more beautiful flowers could only be found far up the mountain.”

I read a portion of the 5 year old’s fairy tale this morning about Little Beta and the Lame Giant. After our short read, she went straight to her spot under our study table and quietly drew the images of an old woman and a blind man who were both gifted with wild flowers by Little Beta. The 5 year old can’t wait to continue with the story. She senses that Little Beta will soon meet the Lame Giant up in the mountain top.

This short story is from In-Story Land by Elizabeth Harrison. I love love love the short stories here. A perfect intro to the beauty of Fairy Tales. Gentle and magical ✨
